Dr. Virginia “Ginny” Johnson earned her DVM degree from Auburn University in 2020. Originally from Boone County, she is glad to be home taking care of her community’s fur babies. She received her undergraduate degree in Biology at the University of Louisville (GO CARDS!!!) prior to moving to Alabama to complete her Veterinary degree. She is happily married to a wonderful electrician who shares a similar passion for their 7 fur children. Together they have 2 Australian cattle dogs (Bullet and Arra), a pitbull (Paisley), a pug (Russet), and 3 cats (Sophie, Weasley, and Cheetoh).
Her veterinary interests include soft tissue surgery, behavior, orthopedics and dentistry. She loves challenging herself to learn new things and always tries to make a lasting connection with both clients and their pets. Fear free medicine is near and dear to her heart, so creating comfortable pets in the vet hospital in a huge goal of hers. Your pets can expect A LOT of cheese if they see her!!!
In her free time, Dr. Johnson can be found binge watching Disney movies, cross stitching, weight lifting or hiking with her family. She has been dabbling in gardening lately, so tips to a beautiful peony are appreciated. As a family, her husband and her both train their dogs in obedience, rally and newly barn hunt. Sitting still is hard for her, so she’s always trying something new.
She is eager to meet you and your fur family.
